What do you do in your free time?
Over the weekend of the 19th to 21st June 09 two pupils (supported by students and staff) from Coleg Llandrillo/Rhyl will attempt to complete the “Welsh 3000’s” challenge.
In order to complete the challenge the team are required to have been at the top of all 15 of the mountains over 3000 ft in Wales within the space of 24 hours, without using any form of transport.
The length of the challenge is about 25 miles, but the walks to the start point and down from the finish point can take it to over 30 miles in total.
It’s very rocky, and both uphill and downhill sections are demanding.
The Welsh 3000's are a much tougher challenge than the 3 Peaks, climbing all the peaks over 3000ft in Wales in under 24hrs, there are 14 of them!!
And we need your help, the “Challenge” team need support teams to walk along with to re supply and generally lift moral, would you like to take part in the challenge you can be assured in the space of one weekend! You will experience an event which combines wilderness, excitement and awe.
